someone discovered this blog on google to other day. i keep forgetting about it, so here I am. I will forget about it again but, todays reminder made me want to write again.
I must press publish in 5 mins as it is already 2 hours past bed time. GAR GAR!
Life is wonderful. Had an amazing few months. Things have turned around alot since June when my parents were here, and my social life is wonderfully healthy and balanced. Lots of conundrums to be queasy over but that is life huh. we will never stop knowing if you should ask someone out or if you are leading them on unfairly. Men are wonderful. Life if wonderful. London, yes London, is more than wonderful. Just love it, and love the opportunities it presents.
At many points this summer, more than ever, ive felt like I am living the life of Riley and have to pinch myself in the situations i have found myself in. Read the secret, and believe it. Love it. Open yourself to the world and the world floods in. And put yourself where you want to be and you will find yourself there. just have to adapt it more.

So Ive been in hiatus, not sure why. Lets say my excuse is I have been living in SW18 for the past 18 months so havent felt able to write up a blog when not in the right postcode of my title.
But I am moving back to Balham next week. YAY. I have felt a good bit of yearning for my balzy. It is my little fav suburb of London. So I am moving back, but, not to SW12. Im going to be in SW17. But my heart is still SW12 so I wont retitle the blog. Near enough is good enough.

Question are there any london post codes with 13? Eg SW13. E13 etc etc? Are there any in the UK. If not, is it superstition? In restaurants they dont have table 13's. HUM! ponder!

V festival

Went to V Festival on Sunday. Was absolutely amazing! tick all the boxes for next year. Must go all out for Glasto and V next year. Cant wait
Girls Aloud, Amy Winehouse, Robyn, the Verve, Lenny Kravitz. All amazing! Just had amazing times, wonderful moments. Great food. Great company, just love love loved it. So much better than a Big Day Out. Was a bugger to get home from though. but hopefully by this time next year i will have of saved for a car. Heres hoping.
how much more of the uk could i explore in a car. I could go to France for camping trips. see Cornwall and the Lakes district and the welsh coast and everything. Isle of Skye for getaways. Life would be bliss. I wouldnt drive around the city in it, but i just want one so I have more flexibility.

Got an email at work asking me to explain why I have such a high usage of the internet within five days or they would inform my boss and her boss. GOD! I had to email back within five days accounting what was required of my job in the last week that required such a high usage and to calculate the amount of time I would spend using the internet for personal use. I got this after business hours mind you, and only after I started looking at the internet for fifteen minutes before that. I feel like I am at school and getting told off. What will happen to me?

My first post.
I was thinking today about why I dont keep a personal journal anymore. I feel like I am not documenting my views on life, changes in thoughts and beliefs, or my itty bitty things that occur and one only vaguely remember later on in life but can only vividly be remembered when going through the documentation of it again. Well I dont keep one because i just live it. I love my life for its lack of daily ritual. Some people live off that; the idea that something keeps them structured. I am methodical in the bathroom, methodical at the supermarket. I dont need more, i dont need the stress of having not written in a journal. I get enough stress from my quota of how long i have to read a book. I tell myself that I have 1 month to read a book so if I havent read my quarter of a novel by the end of a week i get stressed and feel like im failing. Thats enough really. could you imagine me. I would make a quota that I would have to write 4 journals cover to cover in a year. could you imagine me on my third month. I would give up social engagements just to write.
so this will happen as this happens and when it happens. If i havent written in it, i dont care. I havent updated people on my life in a year of being away so anything more than that is a bonus. but no doubt i will end up getting stressed that my page doesnt look full enough.

So a bit about me:
I am 23, I live in Balham in south west London. I originally come from Perth, Australia. Been here almost a year this time. No plans to go back. I find this place just so right. So much about it shits me, but there is so much more that I love about this place. The weather I hate, and yet I love it also. I love summer here, probably more than in Australia. We celebrate it here so much more and dont take it for granted. But today, yesterday and every day this week, it has been raining horribly and its August and I should be going to the beach but instead I hide at home. But life is just amazing for me. I feel right being here, and that is something i never felt ion perth. I was never quite satisfied with it. This majorly upsets my family but I cant live for them or for anyone else. I owe no one nothing and I have to make life the way I want it for myself and no one else. Life is wonderful and I truely believe that.

Balham is somewhere I am really passionate about. It is suave, quaint, small, not too busy, bustling, getting posher, organic central, and I love it.
We have Waitrose, M&S, an independant Wholefoods -esque store, an organic butcher (if you like meat) and cute little stores. Everything I want on a day to day basis is here except for Clothes. And if you ever wanted to move house there are about 20 real estate offices on our high street. I live half way between the high street and tooting common. I have the tube, and the overland trains. I am in heaven here. I have to move in october though, but I am so desperate to stay in Balham. It shits over Clapham common.

My job is a P.A. for the NHS (National Health Service). They love me and I love them. I am amazing at my job and because it is directly for big bosses they make sure you feel appreciated. I love being a P.A. I knew I would before the job. You are directly taking workload off someone so are helping someone directly and getting feedback for them. You are taking their messy jobs and aligning it for them. It is my job to make their life easier. And now I am P.A. the three people the the warm fuzzy compliments just increase. I think a big reason for me liking the job is how big my head gets in it.
I love working in an office. I am usually alone in my office and love working on a computer and pushing papers and photocoping and ticking boxes and filling out incident forms and reporting a broken lightbulb to estates. It beats being a waiter. I thought I LOVED being a waiter, but I LOVE being a P.A. I love the tasks I make for myself, and its not about being as fast as possible in a short term aspect the whole time. Its about getting the job done. Rather than it being fast, its about being proper. So I can chill out and make cups of tea and clean the sink in the kithenette. I love public service, I love how everything has to be respected in it.
I love my job and dont want to do anything else at this stage.

All this makes me worried. I was supposed to be a singer. I should be graduated from Uni with a music degree and be on my projectory to being hired to sing opera. but alas, I am here in London having not used my voice for years. I will get back into it, even if its just hiring a practise room, or getting singing lessons again. but at the moment, I am drinking and socialising out of that fund. going back into my ideal of singing again means going back to perth as I believe WAAPA has such a great course. But not me now. I want to be here and I am living for the day and what great days they are.
I am inspired every day. Yes, I am despired all the time, but the fact is that I am inspired alot more here than in perth. So I stay here till further notice.

Being gay here is so much better and fuller here than Perth too. Cant really place it but it is.
I am alot more free here. not judged. People dont make a thing of me being gay. Its not their business and they stay out. Its the same as race, its not an issue that affects others. I like how I am just Martin here, because at the end of the day thats what i am. nothing else.
On those lines, i feel alot more content here as I dont get the 'what do you want to do in your life?' question posed on me ever here, whereas Everyone in perth asks that. Do I need to always been working towards some higher goal, and is being a waiter/admin/cleaner/juice bar worker not enough for now? can i not just do that until i dont feel like doing it anymore? If you dont go to uni where I come from you are considered a failure. there are two kinds of people working in customer service in my hometown, students, and OAP's, not much in between. whereas here you do what you do and we are not ones to judge as thats our choice to be there. If you choose to have a sexual fetish in baking soda then that is your choice and its not someone elses business to pry or enquire unless it is by invitation and with inquisition, not judgement.

I love being a vegetarian here. I am in heaven. If I didnt make such a hoo haa about it people wouldnt need to know about it, as there is (almost) always plentiful choices on the menu and the vegetarian food at the supermarket rocks.

I am just smitten here.
I dont feel the credit crunch as on the onset of it I started getting paid 50% more than I had ever been paid before. Plus you live within your boundries and so if theres not as much money to go around then you just limit yourself more without really realising it. You dont go on as many holidays as they cost more. but you dont really notice you are being stingier. I have flipped between two different countries twice so I am used to shifting my economics and costs of living.

It is my birthday soon. Cards in the post please. Its shaping up to be a great one. but very lonely as most of my friends, all my really close ones over here are not going to be in town. Kinda looking forward to buying a cupcake and one candle. I think that will be liberating.
